Ilmac Conference 2025: Sustainable innovations in the focus of the chemical and life science Industry
From 16 to 18 September 2025, Basel will once again be the center for experts from the chemical, life sciences, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The Ilmac Conference, organized by the Swiss Chemical Society (SCS), offers a varied programme with top-class speakers and practical insights into current developments in the industry.
Day 1: Artificial intelligence and digital methods
The first day of the conference will focus on the latest applications of AI and digital technologies in chemical research and production. Experts from renowned institutions such as EPFL Lausanne, the University of Cambridge, Microsoft and IBM will share their insights and discuss the future of digital chemistry.
Day 2: Sustainable methods and key technologies
The second day is dedicated to sustainable applications and innovative technologies such as flow chemistry, mechanochemistry and new catalysis processes. The aim is to promote and implement environmentally friendly and efficient processes in the chemical industry. Experts from well-known companies such as Novartis, Roche and ETH, as well as Prof. Riina Aav from Tallinn University of Technology, will also be speaking here. Day 3: Biotechnology and biomanufacturing – sustainability in biotechnological processes and products
On the third day, the focus will be on biotechnological innovations and their application in industrial production. Topics such as bioprocess development, cell culture technologies and sustainable bioproduction will be discussed.
