Cloud-based IIoT ecosystem Netilion
Based on new technologies developed in the context of Industrie 4.0 and IIoT, Netilion is an IIoT ecosystem that offers digital services and thus allows extended access to field device data.
IIoT, the Industrial Internet of Things, means bringing together technology, software, IT, employees and external partners across the entire value creation process. In this context, one speaks of a holistic ecosystem in which all participants benefit from each other through close-meshed networking and the targeted exchange of information. In such an ecosystem, data is processed into information, which saves time and represents an increased benefit for users in contrast to the pure exchange of data.
Of course, in such an ecosystem, one is not limited spatially to the boundaries of the company premises. Networking takes place across companies, and applications can be accessed at any time and from any location. Netilion is a cloud-based, certified and vendor-independent IIoT ecosystem that helps users continuously improve their processes and operations. Netilion consists of various components that are networked together, exchange data with each other and generate application-specific, targeted information.
The main components of the Netilion ecosystem are:
- Netilion Cloud: centralized data storage and data backup.
- Netilion API (Application Programming Interface), a vendor-independent data interface for connecting external data clouds, SAP AIN and control systems
- Netilion Connect to connect the Netilion Cloud with field devices and systems installed on site. This opens a second channel parallel to the customer's process control - plant control, the operational system remains untouched

In addition, the Netilion IIoT ecosystem was confirmed to meet the requirements of ISO 27017, which specifically addresses information security for cloud applications.
The importance of digital solutions is rapidly increasing for customers. That's why Endress+Hauser sought certification to the highest industry standard. "We are proud that as a competence center for digital solutions at Endress+Hauser, we have now been awarded ISO 27001 certification," says Dr. Rolf Birkhofer, Managing Director of Endress+Hauser Digital Solutions.
