60 years of ILMAC – an event in the throes of change
From 24 to 27 September 2019, the life sciences industry, including specialists from the pharmaceuticals, chemicals and biotechnology sectors, is meeting up in Basel on the occasion of the 60th anniversary edition of ILMAC. The Swiss trade fair for process and laboratory technology is celebrating 60 years of its existence in 2019. ILMAC is still far from ready for the scrap heap and is presenting a number of future changes.
The MUT trade fair for environmental technology is being relaunched and staged in parallel to ILMAC in Hall 1.0. The focus at this trade fair is on everything to do with the environment, water and waste water. PHARMA LOGISTICS DAY powered by Lamprecht Pharma Logistics AG is also being held at Messe Basel for the first time. This is a one-day event in Hall 2.0 on 25 September, featuring exhibitors from the fields of logistics and packaging. A Forum covering topical issues and innovations in the sector is accompanying the event.
Alongside the Environmental Technology fair and the PHARMA LOGISTICS DAY, a newly created Experience Zone awaits visitors (for a somewhat different visitor experience), together with a Job Fair and a unique Hologram Show. Also present in 2019 is the Swiss Army with the ABC Defence Corps Spiez.
This year too, ILMAC is staying open later for its Networking Event. On Wednesday, 25 September 2019, the stands of the 450 or so exhibitors will be staffed until 18:30, thus making it possible for those who have to work longer to come to ILMAC too. This is being followed by the ILMAC Drug Party to which all exhibitors and visitors are invited.
With Endress+Hauser as the Main Partner Process, one of the internationally leading suppliers of measuring instruments, services and solutions for industrial process technology and automation is behind ILMAC. The ILMAC Forum is being organised by the Swiss Chemical Society, with the support of Metrohm as Forum Partner.
ILMAC is to be staged every two years in future, alternating with ILMAC LAUSANNE. A further change is that ILMAC in Basel will be open to visitors for three days instead of four days as in the past. The next ILMAC in Lausanne is being held on 7 and 8 October 2020, followed by ILMAC in Basel from 21 to 23 September 2021.
