ILMAC has further enhanced its reputation as the key supplier exhibition in Switzerland for the pharmaceutical and chemical sectors. Hall 1 of Exhibition Centre Basel played host for four days to around 500 exhibitors presenting their products in the fields of research, development, environmental and production technology. The expectations for ILMAC were met, in spite of the decline in investment projects. Suppliers welcomed 17,015 visitors from Switzerland and the neighbouring countries during the exhibition and give an upbeat assessment of how the exhibition went. The aspects highlighted in particular were the quality of the visitors and the positive impact on the exhibition’s profile made by the events going on simultaneously during Basel Life Sciences Week 2010.

Das Organisationskomitee der MipTec Drug Discovery Conference & Exhibition zieht mit 3'000 Kongressteilnehmenden eine positive Bilanz.

From 21-24 September 2010 Basel will once again be the capital and key meeting place for the pharmaceutical, chemical and biotechnology industries. Around 500 exhibitors will be displaying new products and innovations supporting research, development, environmental and process technology. The number of participating companies underlines the good position which the sectors on show are currently in. More than 15,000 professionals are expected to attend from the pharmaceutical, chemical, biotechnology, cosmetics, food and drink industries. In addition to ILMAC, a variety of other supporting international events will be staged under the banner of Basel Life Sciences Week.

Conference “From Nylon to Nanomaterials – The Future of Polymers”
Over 500 high-school pupils have taken up an invitation from the Swiss Chemical Society to attend a conference on polymers at the ILMAC trade show. Journalist Helen Issler will keep order as scientists cross swords with a consumer representative and a representative from industry. Another highlight will be the live show with experiments on plastics by ETH research scientist Thomas Schweizer.
